Privacy Policy for ShowQuote

This Privacy Policy explains how Pot O Luck LLC (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information in connection with the ShowQuote application for mobile and desktop devices (the “Application”) and the related services available at showquote.net (together, the “Service”). ShowQuote is a business tool for trade-show product scouting, quoting, and data management. By using the Service you agree to this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

a) Information you provide

• Account information: your email address, display name, and organization name, provided when you register. Your password is transmitted over an encrypted connection and stored only in hashed (irreversible) form.
• Product and business data you enter: product names, item numbers, vendor names, prices, currencies, minimum order quantities, dimensions, weights, HS codes, shipping and rate settings, and free-text notes.
• Media you capture or upload: product photos, vendor or business-card photos, voice memos, and videos.
• Optional email-report settings: if you enable emailed reports, the SMTP server, port, and username you enter, plus the corresponding password, which is stored in encrypted form on our server.
• Optional integration settings: a webhook URL, if you connect ShowQuote to an external ERP or automation system (a Premium feature).
• Support communications: information you send us by email.

b) Information collected automatically

• Location data: when — and only when — you create a new product entry, the Application may read your device’s GPS coordinates to automatically apply regional pricing logic and to tag where a product was found. Your location is not collected or tracked in the background.
• Device information: a basic device description (for example, brand and model, or computer name) is recorded when you sign in, to help you identify your active sessions.
• Push notification token: if you enable notifications, a Firebase Cloud Messaging registration token for your device, used to deliver chat and reminder notifications.
• Subscription information: when you purchase or restore a subscription, the purchase receipt or token issued by the App Store or Google Play, which we send to Apple or Google to verify the purchase, and the resulting subscription status and renewal date.
• Advertising identifiers: for users on the free tier, the Google AdMob SDK may access device identifiers to serve non-personalized ads, cap ad frequency, and prevent fraud. On iOS, Apple’s SKAdNetwork is used for aggregate ad attribution. ShowQuote does not use the App Tracking Transparency prompt and does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

2. How We Use Information

• To provide the Service: to create and sync your account, store and back up your products and media across your devices, generate PDF and Excel quotes and reports, calculate landed-cost estimates, and enable team messaging.
• To operate subscriptions: to verify purchases with Apple or Google, unlock Premium features, and keep your subscription status current on every device where you sign in.
• To communicate with you: to send verification codes, password-reset messages, notifications you have enabled, and, if you configure them, the email reports you request.
• To show ads: to display advertising to users of the free version. Subscribing to ShowQuote Premium removes ads.
• To secure and improve the Service: to detect and prevent abuse, debug problems, and understand aggregate usage.

3. Global Manufacturer Analytics (Data Pooling)

To provide market intelligence to our users, ShowQuote may add anonymized, aggregate vendor information — such as factory names and average minimum order quantities — to a shared directory. No personal pricing data, product photos, proprietary notes, or organizational identities are ever shared or made public through this feature.

You can opt out of contributing to the shared directory at any time in the Application under Settings → Advanced / Recovery → Global Analytics Opt-Out.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described below:

• Service providers / processors: our hosting and database provider (Hostinger), which stores your account and synced data on our behalf; Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, for push notifications; and the email server you configure, for reports you send.
• App stores: Apple and Google, to process subscription payments and validate purchase receipts.
• Advertising: Google AdMob, for non-personalized advertising to free-tier users, as described in Section 1(b).
• Google Drive (only at your request): if you enable Google Drive backup, you sign in with your Google account and ShowQuote uploads copies of your products and media to a folder in your own Google Drive, governed by Google’s terms.
• Currency data: the Application requests public exchange-rate data from a third-party rate service. No personal information is sent in these requests.
• Legal and safety: if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users, the public, or us.
• Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

5. Data Storage, Location, and Retention

Your data is stored locally on your device and, when synced, on servers operated by our infrastructure provider. Data may be processed and stored in the United States and in other countries where our service providers operate. We retain your information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward, unless a longer period is required by law.

6. Your Choices and Rights

• Access and correction: you can view and edit your products, media, and profile directly in the Application.
• Deletion: you can permanently delete your account and erase your data from our servers in the Application under Settings → Advanced / Recovery → Delete Account. If you no longer have access to the Application, email us at info@showquote.net from your registered address and we will delete your data.
• Opt out of data pooling: use the Global Analytics Opt-Out setting described in Section 3.
• Opt out of ads: subscribe to ShowQuote Premium.
• Location: you can deny or revoke location permission in your device settings; ShowQuote will simply skip location tagging.
• Notifications: you can disable notifications in your device settings.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at info@showquote.net.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections between the Application and our servers, hashed password storage, encryption of stored email credentials, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children’s Privacy

The Service is intended for business users and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us at info@showquote.net and we will delete it.

9. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party services including Apple, Google (Firebase, AdMob, Sign-In, Drive, Play Billing), and Hostinger. Your use of those services through ShowQuote is also subject to their own privacy policies and terms.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, by notice in the Application.
